House on fire

House Fire Problem

House Fire “It Won’t Happen to Me”

All too often we as Fire Safety Advisors are faced with the challenging task of educating the public to the devastating effects of house fires.  Most people think “it won’t happen to me”. You see, I have never met anyone who had a fire who thought they were ever going to have one. We need to talk to as many people as possible to share our message, about Fire Safety.

Would it give you comfort to know that your family and your home is protected by fire safety equipment that gives you all the best chance of surviving a house fire?

In January 2017, there was a change in regulations in our country regarding Fire Safety.  That’s why it is a good idea to have a safety check.  and make a plan for your family on where to go and what to do, in the event of a fire in your home.

Some years ago, in Queensland, there were eleven deaths in a house fire. There were smoke alarms in the house, but it was reported that they had not worked for several years.  Also, it has been known that some people have disconnected their house fire alarms, because they went off too often with smoke from cooking in the kitchen.  Does that sound like a safe thing to do?
